Imagination

My name is Thunder Fur. I have five cats with me. Light Thorn, Green Tail, Rock Shade, Rain Fur, and Crow Claw. Light Thorn and Rain Fur are my best friends. It is leaf fall (fall) and the prey is running low. I knew at leaf bare (winter) the prey would be all gone. I want to move to where the prey is running fast but I am not sure where we should go.
My friends had joined me from the forest as loners. They said the forest is not a good place to move. Rain Fur had a brilliant idea, “I once visited Sand Falls. There is lots of prey there.”
“Yes, that is the right place to go,” I shouted.
We cheered, “We will be clan cats!”
”Let’s go tomorrow night,” I said excitedly.
The next night after a long day of travel, everyone was asleep in a bush and I had a strange dream. While I was hunting a mouse a monster (a car) suddenly came running past and the prey was squashed dead. Soon after another monster was heading toward me then blam!!! I was awake.
My dream was a signal to proceed with caution. I shared my dream with my friends and they were concerned as well.
“What if there is danger up ahead?” said Green Tail.
“Let’s send a scout,” suggested Rock Shade.
 ”How about me?” I said.
The others agreed and I headed out to scout a safe path.
I was working my way across the bridge and there were many roaring and scary monsters just like my dream. It was very smelly and I guessed that all the prey were gone. They either were squished or ran away from the bad smelling monsters.
I found a path that the monsters didn’t travel on but it was full of two legs during the day. I returned to my friends and told them all was clear to cross the bridge as long as we traveled at night.
After we crossed the bridge I decided to take a rest and the others agreed with me. We made moss nests and found as much prey as we could.
”Hey! I think I smell something,” Rain Fur said.
“I recognize that scent,” I said frightfully. “It’s a FOX!”
Just then two big foxes appeared.
“How are we going to fight those foxes off?” asked Rock Shade.
”I think we’re in there territory,” I loudly mewed.
“Let’s run for it,” shrieked Rain Fur. The foxes were getting close. We made a run for it. At least we were running in the right direction, right for Sand Cliff. After many minutes running, we were out of their territory and they quit their chase. I was relieved to see we made it. The beautiful Sand Cliffs were right in front of us. The journey was over.
It felt good to be at our new home. There were lots of prey and best of all we were clan mates. I would not like to move territories again but I may have to another day. All my clan mates think it was a successful and exciting trip.
